Homeroom Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

Homeroom is a health-education app for teenagers, operated by Health EDU ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Homeroom to be private by design: the most sensitive information you enter never leaves your device.

Information we store on our servers

When you create an account and use Homeroom, we store the following on our secure backend (hosted by Supabase):

  • Account information: your email address, used to sign you in.

  • Profile information: your age range, state or region, and gender identity, used to personalize the content you see (for example, state-specific health and legal information).

  • Learning progress: lessons and modules you complete, quiz results, XP, points, streaks, badges, and the virtual items you have unlocked for your in-app room.

Information that stays only on your device

Some features let you track personal health information. This data is stored only on your own device and is never uploaded to our servers or shared with us. This includes:

  • Menstrual and period tracking (logs and cycles)

  • Birth control method and medication reminders

  • Mood logs

  • Your "practice profile" (such as relationship or intimacy preferences used to tailor practice scenarios)

Because this information lives only on your device, it is removed if you delete the app or clear its data.

AI practice conversations

Homeroom includes a practice feature where you can rehearse difficult conversations with an AI character. The messages you type in these practice sessions are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, solely to generate the character's replies. These messages are not used to train AI models. Please avoid entering information that personally identifies you in practice conversations.

How we use information

  • To provide and personalize the app's educational content

  • To save your progress and power gamified features (XP, streaks, the customizable room)

  • To generate responses in the AI practice feature

  • To maintain the security and reliability of the service

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers that make the app work:

  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles account sign-in.

  • Anthropic — processes AI practice messages to generate replies.

We may disclose information if required by law.

Data security

Information sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Account data is stored on secured infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your choices and rights

  • You can request that we delete your account and the data associated with it by contacting us at the email below.

  • You can remove on-device health data at any time by deleting entries in the app, or by clearing the app's data.

  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your information.

Children and teens

Homeroom is intended for users age 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
